Commonground Country Fair 5K

Short report: Running has been a great source of energy lately, and I really enjoyed the first race with my Maine running crew (Matt and Maureen, with Bob as our "support crew") this past weekend. It was a somewhat haphazard but very fun foot race at the Commonground Country Fair. Despite getting a stich in my side partway through mile three, I still did better (30:42) than I think I ever had at a race, especially considering there were hills and that the time includes the 10 or so seconds I spent waiting to get to the starting line from the end of the pack of racers. I did 9:20 on my first mile, which may be one of the fastest miles I've run!

Today's Exercise:
Just a short 20 min walk at lunch

Today's Food:
1650 Calories (22% Fat; 58% Carb; 20% Protein)

I tried one of those "shortcut diet recipes" you read about occasionally, on a whim, because the ingrediants were all in the cupboard and it felt like a nice day to bake. 1 package devil's food cake mix plus 1 15oz can pumpkin, spoon into muffin tins and bake (350 degrees for 20-25 min). They were actually very tasty, satisfying, and moist. Good for chocolate cravings!
